Description:

The Town Clerk is an elected official who has the privilege of working closely with every department in the Town and the residents of the Town.

Responsibilities:

The Town Clerk acts as custodian of all permanent town records and maintains a record of adopted ordinances and local laws, oaths of office, resignations, proofs of publication and posting, annual budgets, assessment rolls and fiscal reports.  All FOIL requests should be sent to this office.  The Town Clerk keeps permanent minutes of all Town Board meetings and public hearings.

Town and County Taxes are collected from January 1 – May 31.

The Town Clerk also issues many New York State licenses and permits including hunting, fishing and parking permits for the residents with severe disabilities.

Forms needed for dog licensing, zoning, planning and assessment exemptions are available in this office as well.

Water bill collection happens here for Town of Denmark Water DIstrict 1.

The Town Clerk is the NYS Registrar for the Town of Denmark and issues marriage licenses and birth and death certificates, birth and death transcripts and burial transit permits and is responsible for keeping a permanent record of all births, deaths and marriages that occur within the town.  Geneology requests are welcomed!
